Space Shuttle Endeavor - STS-130

Sat out in the Sunday morning cold (windy @40 degrees-frozen for Florida) until it was scrubbed at about 4:30AM. Epic traffic on the way out. Pulled back into my campsite at sunrise. Exhausted!

Watched the Super Bowl in on my 7" screen in the T@B recalling being in New Orleans when they won the division. The town went nuts then- I can't imagine the celebrations going on there now!

Left for the cape after the game and camped out in the same spot to wait for the launch. Not as cold and not as many people as the night before and I was better prepared to nap in my broken camp chair until launch time shortly after 4AM.
Awesome! It is inconceivable to me that the USA is going to put even a temporary hold on direct involvement in manned space flight for any time at all. Seeing this incredible event is the only way most of us can directly participate in space travel. Of course, my cell phone, smoke detectors, heart stents and a few other things that have connections to the space program are constant reminders but watching and willing it to go higher & higher was just plain inspiring!
